Managing Employee Experience Part 2: Tackling the Challenges

Better understand your business environment, and manage EX that is critical to organisational success.

What Will I Learn in This Course?

This course is designed to help mid-career or senior HR/EX professionals think differently about employee experience, how it should be measured, and how to improve it.

This course is Part Two of a two-part series, and both parts revolve around four primary themes: dispersal, measurement, agility, and humancentricity.

  1. Dispersal: Explore the vital role of business leaders and managers as the primary influencers of EX. You will learn about the barriers that hinder collaboration between EX teams and business leaders and discover strategies to align priorities and bridge the gap between HR and the business for effective EX management.

  2. Measurement: Measuring the impact of EX is crucial for organisations, but it comes with its challenges. In this module, you will uncover the obstacles organisations face when measuring EX impact in terms of both business/financial outcomes and employee satisfaction. You will gain insights into leveraging different types of data and collaborating with experts, such as Finance, to drive meaningful EX measurements.

  3. Agility: Agility is a key factor in adapting to the ever-changing work environment. In this module, you will explore the concept of "EX impact maker" work and how it allows employees and the business to witness tangible results even before laying all the foundations. You will discover how to embrace agility in EX initiatives and create a dynamic and impactful employee experience.

  4. Humancentricity: Employees' needs and well-being should be at the core of organisational practices. In this chapter, you will examine common misconceptions surrounding employee needs and desires, and the importance of prioritising their well-being above hierarchical structures. You will challenge traditional beliefs and learn how embracing employee-inclusive practices can foster efficient and people-centred organisations.

These four themes alternate with chapters on “the cutting edge”, which present questions, challenges, and debates that we don’t currently have an answer or best practice on. EX management is a new field, so there’s a lot we don’t know yet!

The activities in this course also help to internalise all the new ideas: mostly reflections or conversation-starters and survey-like quizzes that aren’t tests, but rather give you an indication of where your organisation or team is EX-wise. We hope this course will inspire you to rethink employee experience and equip you with the tools to make a positive impact in your organisation.
